Deep down the ocean water beyond the reach of humans, the most magical place exists. There lives creatures such as mermaids and merman living harmoniously with the fishes and other sea creatures. Many humans thought that there are no such places on this earth.
Houses made up of colorful corals were all over the place. Just like the humans, they too have shops and markets selling food and goods. Everyday, life under the sea is full of vigor and activity. Shouts and bargains can be heard in the market. Music and dancing can be seen in parties. Fishes swim by in schools and crabs and lobsters crawled by like nobody business.
Like the humans, mermaids and merman are also divided into clans. There are many clans. The most powerful of all is Serenity. Serenity is a group of mermaids and merman who loves peace and quiet. They will do whatever it takes to achieve their goal. They are non-violent and would rather settle things peacefully rather than go into a fight. Mermaids and merman in this clan have bright colorful tails, which glitters and shine in the moonlight.
Purity is another clan. Just like the name suggests, Purity is a group of mermaids and merman who believe in their pure blood, a bit like aristocrats. They are much more arrogant as they believe that they are the purest group of all. They are the oldest clan and are said that the first mermaid and merman come from there. Mermaids and merman in this clan have only darker color tails.
Serenity and Purity are bad rivals. Both clans have different beliefs. Serenity is more down to earth while Purity are more headstrong. Despite this, they still lived peacefully together.
Mermaids and merman practiced white magic. Each mermaid has different powers. Some can see the future, some can cure. Whatever it is, they never use their powers against themselves.
Not only mermaids and merman are the inhabitants on the huge ocean floor. Half man, half squid creatures, known as Argos also dwelled in these waters. Argos lived in a dark, barren area away from the merpeople ever since they are banished. This area is called Forbidden Place. Argos practiced black magic even though much of them are left and almost all their magic were destroyed. They are now more or less harmless.
